The 2.0 Litre TFSI 136 kw/185
hp and the 2.0 Litre FSI 110 kw/150 hp engines
attack like carnivores, yet eat like vegetarians.
The 2.0 Litre TFSI 136 kw/185 hp version is driven
by a turbo-charger that boosts power over the
entire engine range, keeping you firmly in the
back of your seat.
A highly resilient pneumatic valve ensures maintenance
costs are kept to a minimum.
Both engines utilize direct injection technology
to create a more dynamic and environmentally
friendly petrol engine.
A newly developed, high-pressure, fuel injection
system incorporates demand-controlled single-piston
injection pumps. This air-guided process, with
map-controlled in-cylinder flow, optimises air/fuel
mixtures at both low throttle and high throttle.
On the output side, a rich-mixture purification
programs accomplished by a NOx storage-type converter
designed specifically for direct-injection engines.
This exhaust gas recirculation system diverts
up to 30% of the gas mixture back into the combustion
chamber.

Output is pinned to the road
in precisely the time and place of your choosing
with any of six forward gears.
The addition of the sixth gear allows the gearbox
to fit precisely to the engine’s distinct characteristics,
taking advantage of a full range of torque and
resulting in shorter throws of the wrist when
changing gears.
For sport driving, thanks to the automatic Tiptronic
gearbox, the high output engine embraces high
input torque so you can turn the engine loose
and let it run wild and for driving comfort,
it offers a more balanced and even transfer of
input torque.
As a result, the engine runs in the most efficient
torque band, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
No power is wasted.
