In addition to superior axles
and suspension, the New Leon also boasts a class
leading Electromechanical Power Steering system.
The new EPS unit not only delivers comfortable
and precise, speed-dependant steering assistance,
it also saves you 0.2 litres of fuel per 100
kilometres.
EPS consists of an electric motor, steering torque
sensors, speed sensors and a central control
unit.
Using its sensors to calculate the speed of the
car and the amount of effort the driver is applying
to the steering wheel, the system can then determine
precisely the level of assistance it should give
to the driver.
This results in smooth, exact and consistent
steering that is unrivalled by the competition.
And, as EPS only activates when needed, it minimises
the fuel consumption significantly compared to
hydraulic systems. |
